How to clean dead live rock

Hi I have some live rock from a friends tank which was live rock was only 5 months in his tank then he give up and left the rock in the garden for 4 months
Nice rock it is .how can I use it for my set up as just set my tank up with live rock
And it's cycling can I just soak the rock it in Ro water thanks

Thanks mate will probably just sock it in Ro water for a few weeks
As only want one piece of rock from it as it has some nice features to it

I spray it with something like a pressure washer or something. After that, put it in freshly mixed saltwater in a tub or Brute container, along with a heater and powerhead. This will cycle the rock and will make it ready for use in your DT. Cycle it just like a tank, meaning you will see the ammonia, nirite, and nirate spikes.

Hi I Just set up my tank on Saturday and I bought some ultra grade live rock
Butt wanted to add a few pieces of the dead live rock as got some nice shapes
To them do you think if I wash in Ro water for a week should be ok
