How to clean gorganian

I was walking on Honeymoon island over the weekend and found a nice dark red gorganian. How should I clean it to make it safe to put in my tank. The piece was out of the water too long, so it was already dead when I found it.

If its dead why are you putting it in your tank ?

Oh, gotcha. Not sure how the skeleton will affect the tank

Maybe it's best I just don't use it in the tank.
