how to clean this crap off my sandbed

I have all sorts of things on my sand bed. Some was hair algea n i knoe i have a cyano problem but theres still a bunch of brown n geen all over it. I have four nassaurius snails and now they dont even go nowhere near any of it. I went 3 days no lightd to help with the hair algea but what else can i do?

I did the three day blackout already and it helped but did get rid of everything. I have a 34 gallon. Would a sand sifting goby be ok in this size tank?

If you get lucky and it also eats prepared food. If not, and some won't, it will starve. Make sure you see it eat at the lfs. It won't eat the cyano though. Just sift the sand and eat the sand bed fauna. In a 34 gallon it could strip your sand bed pretty quickly.

They also will likely throw sand everywhere, irritating corals in the process. You will have a sand storm for at least a week when you add it. I have a diamond goby that is pretty well behaved but sometimes goes nutty and throws sand everywhere.

Cyano (and other algae problems) have root sources that need to be identified and handled. Overfeeding, bad lighting, lack of flow all contribute to these issues. I'd suggest searching here and reading about algae issues in general. It's highly unlikely that any one thing will solve your problem.

I am assuming that this is a relatively new setup. There is a lot of different biological changes going on if it is. Identifying what organism is causing your angst is critical to selecting the right course of action. Unfortunately, unwanted "growth" may not respond quickly to remedies.

Do a Google searches for "images" using, cyanobacteria, diatoms, dinoflagellates, and hair algae. Add "in reef aquarium" to limit the search to useful hits. You are really in the best position to identify your organism. When you have a solid ID, you will be armed with the right knowledge to shop for remedies here and on the internet.

I have 2 blue cheek gobys n there mad I have sand every were n they make caves under my live rock but they r amazing little gits

3 day lights out will make a dent in your cyano problem but you will probably have to do that once every 4 weeks for 3-4 months to really get it gone. Clean it out with a turkey baster in the meantime and don't overfeed. It's a pain. GFO should also help but may not be easy to implement in a small setup.

I have had the tank going for about a year already so it isnt a new setup. I do think that i need more flow n will be getting an mp10 at the beginning of next month to help with that. As for lighting goes i have a maxspect razor running about ten hours with the leg kit over the top of the tank
