How to determine head hight with multiple tanks

My paint skills are minimal, sorry. All measurements are verticle feet. I was wondering how you can determine head height when there are 2 tanks invloved? Do I add 9ft + 4ft + 4.5ft, or is it just 9ft + 4.5ft? Thanks for any help

The static head on the pump will be the 13.5 feet. You will have to restrict the output on the 4 foot tank or all of the water will go into that tank.

thanks, i didn't think about all the water going to the shorter tank. thank goodness for RC
