Anybody can guide for how to differentiate between Clarkii and Sebae ? I know there is so many similar fish like Chrysogaster , Latifasciatus , Chrysopterus , Bincintus , Omanensis , Allardi etc all looks the same . Asking this because i have a Redsea Bincintus and just bought a Clarkii or Sebae not very sure but its from Indonesia with almost the same coloration and shape compare to Redsea bincintus ...

A sebae clown has the body shape of a saddleback clown (A. polymnus). They tend to have a big head for their body. The have a round shape when viewed from head on, like: o. The middle stripe slants backwards. There is never a third stripe. Their yellow tail is normally opaque. (Pics of two different pairs, but the same anemone)

Clarkis body shape when viewed from head on is more like (). Sometimes they will have a 3rd stripe. If they have a yellow tail, it is usually transparent. Their second stripe is vertical in adults. (Juvies sometimes have a little slant)

Hope that helps. If you have a picture we could tell you better.

Oh thanks phender for very clear explanation , now I can easily ID them . BTW , whats the different between Bincintus and Allardi ?

Allardi are usually darker, but bicinctus can be dark too.

Allardi will almost always have a yellow triangle at the base of their tail. This pic shows juvenile fish, but adults have it too.

Hi phender , thanks a lot with your help for ID . Now I can easily differentiate because most of the shipment in my country are indonesia and philippine so only Sebae and Clarkii available if not mistaken ...
