How to dip a Sun Coral?

I am going to transfer my sun coral into my new tank but would first like to get rid of all the bristle worms that are on it. How would I do this? What dip method would I use? The tank that the coral is currently in is infested and overrun with bristleworms, and I hate them! I know they're a good part of a cuc and can be beneficial....but not when there is the amount that I have.

Thanks for the advice!

I understand your frustration!

I have dipped in double strength melafix marine and dont believe it killed many bristleworms at all (but had an immediate impact on micro brittle stars and other more desirable small inverts).... Even if you are successful with another dip, they will recolonise the immediate area around your sun coral due to the heavy feeding that attracts the worms. JME:(

The tank the sun coral will be going in is a new tank with all new rock and sand that has recently finished its cycle. Water parameters have been stable and perfect for around the last week. This sun coral will be the first and only thing to go into the tank besides a small piece of established live rock from my other setup's sump.

As of now I can guarantee my new tank is worm-free, and after taking my sun coral out of the old tank and placing it into a tupperware for feeding I saw 3 or 4 worms on the bottom, and a couple more came out once food was placed in the tupperware.

With the amount of worms I've seen on the sun coral (8-10 maybe?) do you think they would recolonize and become a problem again in my new tank if this is the only thing that will be in there for now?

What should I do? Stupid worms :(
