How to feed?

This is maybe the worst question to be asking after 4 years in the reef game but I have been feeding thru my return pump for years and I am now thinking that its a bad idea. My live stock consists of a yellow tang, maroon clown, purple psudochromis and mandrian. I feed on cube a food per day, I let it thaw in a cup of water with 3 drops of garlic for 10 minutes than dump it into the input for my pump. it chops it up real nice and spreads it all over the tank.
Any problems with this method?

It sounds good to me. The only problem I could imagine is small food particles building up and damaging the pump. But if you clean the pump regularly, I think that it would be ok. HTH
