How to frag zoos attached to rock?

Do I just peel them off? They're attached to a large rock that I won't be able to chip off. How do you all do it? Thanks

If it's a huge rock that you can't remove out of the tank and break with a hammer and chisel...just glue a frag rock next to the zoas and let them spread on it in a few months... and the break the frag rock glue and you have a frag.

So other than taking the rock out and dremeling, there's no way to remove zoas immediately? I'm trying to take some out for someone and waiting till it spreads won't work :)

It's hard to peel them off specially if they are archored well. The best way is to just remove the rock and break a small piece off of it. If this is not possible, try peeling the zoas off carefully using a credit card.

my question is simular but opposite, i have some zoas on frag rocks and i want them to spread onto bigger rocks, if i lay the frag rock on the bigger rock will they be able to spread to the other rock, do i have to glue it down? it stays put well. i want to do this so i can spread them and then take the original frag rock off and let them grow in -=)

Yes, that will work. May take them a bit of extra time to overgrow the lip of whatever they are on to get to the base rock, but trust me they will eventually get there. Zoas are like a creeping plague.

S !

thats cool, i was actually wondering if they can make it over the lip of the rock. thanks for the reply
