How to get and how important is "random" flow

I have a 20gallon wide reef tank and I have a jebao SW8 pump creating flow.

The problem I am seeing is my flow pretty much always goes one direction, causing my corals to constantly be dragged to one side. Is this a problem and how can I combat this?

It' tough in that size tank, but maybe if you bounced it off front glass panel might be better.

Random flow is more important for sps, but of course you don't want to just blast the softies close to pump either in attempting to cover all flow needs w/ just one pump.
