How to get rid of a couple of LARGE bristle worms?

I've got a 24G JBJ nano, and over the past couple of weeks I've noticed there's 2-3 extremely large (20"+) bristleworms in my tank.

I've noticed in the past that occasionally some of my zoas would go missing, especially if I didn't feed the tank for a couple of days, and the other night I caught one of them munching on a zoas, coating everything they touch with a thick muscous.

So I've tried building a trap out of PVC, but they were too long for it. I've been told to try a pantyhose trap, which is my next attempt. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I'm about to take a hammer and chisel to my live rock! :-)

post a photo of the bristle worms you might have a different type of worm in your tank
most bristle worm do not eat Zoas you might have a eunicid worm they will eat all type of corals

It's not that hard to catch a 20 inch worm in a 24 gallon tank, is it?

Just grab him with long tweezers and throw him out.

It's suprisingly hard to be honest, since he never actually comes out of the rock completely. Also, he's FAST.

you could try an upside down plate or a saucer if your tank is too small. put a piece of uncooked table shrimp under it just before the lights go out. give it a couple hours and with a flashlight and a net lift the plate and scoop him out it has worked for me more times than i can remember.read it on a previous thread hope it works for you.
