how to get rid of green alage on glass

can any one tell me if there is any thing that i can purchase from my lfs to get rid of this green alage on my tank i have a good supply of snails and crabs but it seems too be to big of a job for them . also what could be causing this monster too appear

Is it hard algae? I have hard green algae that appears on my glass and just take a credit card to it.

Buy an Algae Magnet and check your water for nitrate / phosphate.

Cut back on your lights a bit and ensure that they have a Kelvin rating of at least 6400K, If you have old bulbs it may cause this as well. HTH

the green algae i have has always come off with a few swipes of the cleaning magnet

You need to be more specific! Green algae could be anything from caulerpa to coralline.
