I got this rock from a local reefer a while ago and now the GSP's are taking over the zoo's. I don't mind if they spread to the next rock, as you can see in the pic, but how do I get them off or kill them?

Do I cut them or what? The zoos have started to spread to the adjacent rock also so i dont just wanna pull the rock off

You can try to carefully mix a paste of pickling lime and a bit of water then carefully squirt it on the GSP's after turning off all circulation. You can also try and scrape them off with a knife. Either method won't kill all of them but with some persistance and patience you could eventually get them all.

I have a rock with encrusting gorgonian on it, the colour of flsh. Basically the same species as GSP, but not colourful at all. It spreads like wildfire!

You might have to either cut the rock to pieces, or get some epoxy putt and smother it out.

Maybe try chipping out the rock with the GSP in it, then putty over whatever you can't get off. It WILL kill other things.

i would disturb them so that they are tottaly retracted and then use epoxy or superglue gel and put it over them.. then they cant expand and they cant go through photosynthesis... as for it connected to the other rock... its virtually undistructabkle.. i jsut ripped mine..... but just cut it..

Yeah, you gotta commit to killing them, or they'll kill the other stuff. Like I said, ifyou want to save any bits of them, try chipping them off, then puttying over what's left of them. The zoos should grow over the putty, so you have a nice zoo rock (which it IS, by the way!)
