So looking at buying a Chinese black box for a tank that does not have a canopy and looking to make a stand or buy one or something for it?

Any suggestions?

There was a thread, maybe in the lighting forum, where several shared their methods to do what you want. Most used tubing of one kind or another and bolted it to the stand then it supported a frame to hang/attach them to

I chose to hang mine, made a frame out of 1 in sq alum tube from Lowes

There are Chinese LED fixtures that comes with legs/tank mount. That might be a better option if you want a cleaner look. Just browse around in Amazon.

if your not setup yet then the world is your oyster : ) have you got anything else like a stand sorted yet? your best bet is to run box section up the back of your stand and 90 degree bend and hang them from the cables.. just take in to account that you want to be atleast 8 inches of the water level if you can. ive got one of those 2 channel boxes on mine and for its money its a great starter light!

I would go this route if you haven't bought the light. Plus, the tank mount version looks a lot thinner and sleeker.

I used one in steel conduit from the electrical supply section at Home Depot. A couple of 90 degrees, the pipe and a pipe bracket to hold it to the stand. Worked great, painted black or a color of your choice and it looks great, plus fairly cheap

The hanging type goes for around $160 and tank mount goes for around $200, give or take a few $. You just need to find a style and spec you like. DIY is not for everyone. If I were to make one, it would probably be ugly as heck and would be something visible all the time. So you can figure your diy skill and choose which route to go.

Well the issues I run into is it needs to be higher due to it being a frag tank that is super shallow
