My tank is almost a year old and finally i have fish that are staying alive. No fighting, not stress and friendly swimmers who like to show their personalities. NEWAYS... i was going to ask, does anyone know how to brighten the color of my fish? My clowngoby is suppose to be brown and he's looking translucent, my cleaner wrasse was bright at the store and now he's loosing his rainbow appearance, and my anemone was birght red and now its burgendy\ pale?
Please help, what should I feed? Is it the water? What veggies do ur fish eat, do they actually eat it? WB

Feed a different variety of foods. i feed my fish pellets, flakes, cyclop-eeze, frozen krill, and frozen shrimp. tangs are the only fish that would probably eat veggies but it's not good for them since it's difficult for them digest.

what lights are you using? What are you feeding? Is this the 27 gallon or the 70 gallon? Tank's age?

my tank is almost ten months old. I feed my fish flakes, mysis shrimp, zoo-plankton, roe, chopped clams, seaweed sometimes. My lighting is 2 double compact lights and Im doing a water change today.
In my tank it reads the salinity is .028, and my new water is 0.25. Do u think I should add an extra gallon of water with no salt before I take the old water out? Or add the extra gallon when Im doing the water change, to top it off?

How many gallons of water are you changing? Salinty is a little bit too high. All top offs shouldn't be done w. slatwater. i use reverse-osmosis water to top off. I think a small water change w/ the salinity at 1.025 would be fine. It's important to bring the down the salinity slowly so that it doesn't cause the fish any stress.

Diet is probably the issue, but it could also be a perceived color change because of the lights. When was the last time you changed them? PCs really shift spectrum after about 6 months of use and can really make things look dull.

True with the light bulb. Today I will be changing 6 gallons on my 27G tank. One gallon has no salt and the other 5 with salt, are sitting with a power head. I should probably wait 24hours, even though it says Instant Salt huh?
TOmorrow I'll see how my light is doing and hopefully everyones ok

I've always recommended New Life Spectrum pellets for good coloration. I have good success with this as well.

yeah

yeah

yeah, i guess i have to do both, buy pellots and lights.
SOmeone said earlier they make a mix of beef heart and ect. Does anyone else do it? Sucessfull on Golden Wrasse?
