I have a snowflake pair who are with only 3 firefish. i want to add another pair, platinums, in the same tank.

last time i put in a clown fish they both attacked it like crazy, but they do not attack any other new fish i put.. just clowns.

will they eventually find seperate places and not kill each other?

Not a good idea, more than likely you will have a fight on your hands with some very expensive clown pairs.

How large is your tank?

You just told us the answer on why we say it's not advisable to add more clownfish to a tank. You already have an established, dominant clownfish pair. So yes, they will any new clownfish on sight.

The answer to second question is a resounding NO.

Here's the deal. You are different from me, your parents, and you're siblings, your friends... we all heve different personalities...so do fish... AND, we act differently under different stress... While there is a situation where it MAY work out, most of the time it will not work. The most intelligent person will tell you this: "good luck. no one knows for sure, but the odds are against you."
A dumb sheep will just spit out what they have read... "no, it won't work"... which, in all reality, most likely, it won't end well...

Good luck, no one knows for sure, but the odds are against you. :) One thing is for sure. Having one pair of clowns (that get along with each other)is good, any more than that is asking for trouble, whether you get trouble or not is a gamble. If you gamble, most likely you will get trouble. Truth is, no one can say for sure, but odds are, you will have problems. Best of luck to you.

I've seen it work a few times, but the large majority of times it eventually ends in them fighting. Once they start to breed, they become more aggressive. Considering you have already tried this once and your existing clownfish immediately attacked a new clownfish introduced, you can expect the same reaction from them again. I have heard of people completely relandscaping their system and introducing them together and it work at the start. Considering you have expensive clownfish and want to add more expensive clownfish, I think you are gambling with a lot of money and adding a lot if stress to all fish in the system.
