I have a RBTA that I thought was relativly small at around 5-6 inches across the oral disc. I do believe that it is starting to split already, there is a line forming from the mouth out to the edge of the oral disc but only on one side. I am new to anemones so this is a guess it's splitting. I don't know if it's a reaction to the clown I just added or why it's doing it. I just added an allardi clown two days ago because my black ocellaris wouldn't host it and the allardi went straight into the RBTA but it might be mad cause the clown seems kinda rough on it, but again I'm not sure cause I'm new to nems. I did not notice this line until this morning.
I tried to take some pics today before work but the clown was making it difficult, I managed to get a few but they are not great pics I will post later after I get off work.
I would rather have the anemone grow larger rather than split into multiple smaller anemones. I know I've read BTAs can grow up to 12" across and my LFS has one in their display tank that is about 15" across.
