Just thought i would post here also...

I moved my tank to a new location where the floor is slightly un level... how can I get it to level

do i put in wedges under the stand?
will that be safe?

its off by about a 1/4 inch on one side vs. the other side

any help would be super appreciated

My floor was fairly level, so I only had use a couple pieces of cardbord. I thing the wedges should be fine, how big is your tank? that would make a difference as to what is/isn't safe.

once before my floor was un even and i took some old carpet and kind of stair stepped it to acheive the right height. that way there was no low spot in the middle to bow.

If its not completely filled place shims under the stand as needed and fill. I did this when my 135 was almost 3/8" out of level. I lined up the shims as needed. I also had a 6ft level on the tank as it was being filled to make sure it was level if it became unlevel during filling I used more shims. After the freshwater leak test I had my measurements and custom cut 2 shims for most of the length of the stand.

So first is the tank permanent? Is the stand a points stand as in four points of pressure? Or is it a flat stand that evenly disperses the weight over the shape of the tank? Points stand can be shimmed, but use a composite shim or a plastic mini (sold for plumbers to level toilets among other things). If it is the other style of stand and you want perfection things get a little elaborate as to how to level a floor.

I would love to know if anyone has figured out a way to level a filled tank. I leveled mine when I set it up but didn't check again once I filled it. Turns out it is about 1/4" lower on one side.

Well you can use a jack pole in the basement (if you have one) Place under joist where it is lower and rotate jack until level. But I wouldn't recommend winging it cause you can wreak your if you do it wrong floors esp tile and hardwood. I used a jack to reinforce and sag precautions also level. Then did the floor coverings.
