Well it's not really an autosiphon.....can anyone lead me to a DIY on putting a hole and a tube into the top of the U-tube so I don't have to get saltwater in my mouth anymore? Thanks
simple trick i learned here. take the u-tube and fill it with water. cover both ends with plastic wrap. make sure both overflow boxes are full with water. then while holding the plastic wrap, put the tube in place, and remove the wrap. it should start right up.
Just use a really long piece of airline tubing 6 to 8 feet, or more. That will give you plenty of warning and allow you to suck out enough air to get it going.
I always laugh when people buy overflow boxes, and they include 12 in. of airline tubing to get the siphon started.
Assuming you WERE going to put a hole at the top of the U-Tube and attach an airline tube w/ check valve at the end, what is the best way to make the hole? Regular power drill? Heat? Anything else...
Next, what is the best way attach the airline to it? Superglue gel? Silicone? Anything else...
I have read many posts from people who have done this, and I was wondering how they went about doing so.
