How to make container reef safe?

I have a sink reservoir that came out of a camper, that I want to make a sump/fuge out of. I mostly want to use it because it will give me the most water volume for the space I have. I sure there has been nothing else in it except water, but I want to be safe, so how would I go about doing that. A couple of vinegar and water baths, bleach and water baths, if so how long and how many.... What would work the best? Thanks for any help in advance....

Take it to the car wash and pressure wash it. I do this with 55 gallon drumbs and it works. I use the soap and then rinse. Of course, this expects there was nothing toxic in it.

A good rinse with white viniger and warm water does the job quite nicely, just remember to give it a final rinse!
