Me and my buddy split a few colonies months ago. He recently shut down his tank and gave me the colonies back and whoa what a big difference. The same zoas looked totally different from mine. His were much fuller and the color was much richer. Skirts were short but thick. Polyp was twice in diameter of mine.
Does anyone know what makes them fuller and richer in color? He said he was running 10k's while I ran 20k's. I think I have less nutrients because my SPS colors are not as dark as well. I have an 87 gallon with one tang, three damsels and a wrasse that I feed once a day.
