many people don't know how to post pictures in their threads. here is a simple how to!

1. reefcentral doesn't host the picture on the internet. So you will need to set up an account where the pictures will be hosted. i use photobucket.com so i will use that as the example.

1a. create account (follow online instructions), upload photos (again follow online instructions.)

1b. this is the screen you see in photobucket

1c. now you got a choice!!!!yeah!!!
I.you can highlight the text in the yellowed box labeled DIRECT LINK. copy this line by pressing and holding the [Ctrl] key and pressing the [C] key. you will need this line in reefcentral in a second. image below is the line you need
photobu4.jpg

II. or you can just click (photobucket only) the yellowed area and a bright yellow box saying COPIED should show up ( see image below). now you are good

2. go to reefcentral, log in, start your thread click the button in the VB code section labled IMG
help.jpg

2a. this will appear
photobu5.jpg

2b. now post the line you took from photobucket by pressing and holding the [Ctrl] and [V]. the text from photobucket should appear.

2c. click OK and a line similar to this will appear in the text box
url]

we are done

here is a simpler way of doing it...photobucket only!!!!!

1. in photobucket click this line
photobu2.jpg

1a.the yellow copied box should appear
photobu6.jpg

2. go to reefcentral and start a thread

2b. in the main text box press and hold [Ctrl] and [V]
the line from the yellow box should appear. if it doesn't you did something wrong. you will have to start over!

good luck. and lets see those photos!!!!

i spent a decent amount of time making this post. so if you are thinking of posting anything to the effect of bashing or belittling the people that might find this helpful. please don't post

Actually it looks great. Our Vice President still can't post pics so I am going to send it to him.

Good tutorial! Took me a while to figure it out too.

But if people do upload photos to the RC albums maybe a few screen shots could help. Basically copy the http code (where it says "Use this in img tag" then sandwich it in between
or hit the IMG button.
