how to q-tine 6 yellow tangs?

Hey guys,

I am thinking of getting 6 yellow tangs for my 8x2x2 tank. My question is how do I q-tine 6 of them?

I have a 4x1x1 tank, for q-tine purposes, but that sinply isn't big enoguh in my view. I would not be so worried about bioload, I have plenty of spare filter equipment that would take care of that. My concern would be that they would murder one another in a 4x1x1 tank for the 4-6 week q-tine period.

I could get my hands on a 48"x18"x18" tank, but I don't know how much difference that is going to make - water quality is obviosly easier to manage in the smalelr tank - 5 gallon daily changes would make a big difference on a 4x1x1.

Thanks for any input,

Cheers,

Matt

a 4x1x1 is basically 30 gallons. IMO that is still a lot of fish for a 30 gallon tank.

I would go for a larger tank as it would help also put a few pots or PVC in there, I would put enough for at least 1 spot for all the fish and 1 extra.

If you don't want to the larger one you could pick up a few smaller ones and do 2-3 fish per tank. That might be a little more work but in reality not much.

If your going to get them all at once then that is what I would do.

If not, then you could get three of them do the QT in the 30 and when that is finished get the other three. I think it will depend if you want to do the qt continously.

I QT each fish individually, but then again, I only have 4 fish total in my large tank, but my QT is always running in case I want to get another one.
