how to relocate a RTBA

hey everyone,

I've had an RTBA in my tank for about 2 years. When I first introduced it, it wondered for about an hour then planted its foot in a crack in the rock and has never moved since. It hosts two clowns.

I want to move it to a new, bigger, tank. I do not want the rock it is anchored to since it has a proliferating macro algae I hate (caulerpa bryopsis)

How do I move the nem without the rock?

Aim a powerhead at the nem foot to encourage it to move to a nicer location.
Have you a piece of rock [or plate] you can try to get the nem to move to so easier to transfer to the new tank?

I hadn't considered a plate. Is it better to let it adhere to a plate in the old tank them move it? I was just thinking I should grab it an place it in a new tank.

Do what LFS do when selling corals IMO. Slowly peel it off and put it in a bag with the same aquarium water. Then acclimate it in the new tank like you usually do when introducing corals/fish. It will move around until it find a spot to its desire.
