How to remove a Coral Banded Shrimp?

I have a Coral Banded Shrimp that never comes out. I can only see the tips of his antena way in the back of the rocks. I recently added a tiny Cleaner Shrimp and I believe he killed it, so I want him out. How do I get it out? Any ideas?

tease it with a piece of freeze dried shrimp or something of that sort. Frozen will work too, but they are so small and easy to just drift away. if you have tongs, tease it with this and a net in your other hand. Or two nets. one with food and the other to trap it with. It might be better if you have your main lights off as well. it shouldn't be too hard unlike cleaner shrimps :) good luck!

There's no way I can get a net anywhere near it. It lives in the back where no net can go. It also doesn't come out for food ever. I didn't know there was a trick or trap to do it.

Would an arrow crab kill it?

just place the food in the net in the open area of your tank and the shrimp should pick up the scent. Requires patience, since you would need to wait for the shrimp to come out. basically like fishing

I've had a coral banded for about 2 years and mine has never bothered anything else in the tank. Mine is nocturnal. Hides in his cave during the day and onlt comes out to feed at night. Try a flashlight if you don't have night illumination on the tank.I can get really close to mine at night. Otherwise you might just have to remove some of the rocks to get to him. I know it's a pain but sometimes its the only way. I have tore up my 75 more than once to remove a nusiance. Best of luck.

yea definatly try to get him at night, i use a cup, and some food, they will jump and run after the food, then i just scoop him right up

Carefull using a net, I have netted mine several times with success but the last time I did he brok both his claws off. It shed within a week and grew new claws though...
