feed it and get it closed up once thats accomplished you will have more room to work. take that rock out of the tank and using bones cutters and a chisle or whatever you have to use to break the rock appart. i would recomend tring to keep a small piece of rock on the foot. then move it to where ever you need.

I have heard of ice cubes being used before. Haven't tried it personally. Put the ice as close to the foot as possible if not directly on the foot.

Aim a power head directly at it, snatch it when it starts to move

how long do i have to do this before i should see results of it moving?

Shouldn't be too long, as soon as they start to feel uncomfortable it should start to seek somewhere better...mina always moved when the lights go out

This may be hard for this application, but sliding a credit card under the foot works well and does not harm the BTA. If this doesn't work, I have heard many success stories with using ice.

I tried an airstone on the foot for two days and it didnt move, stuck a powerhead 1" away on it for a few hours and it didnt move either. I had to take out the rock and pry at the foot with a toothpick. I still couldnt get it off completely and ended up ripping the foot. Not sure if it lived through it since I did this last night.

tried ice, power head, and i cant reach the foot for a credit card. When i tried power head he just moved deeper into Lr and was even harder to get to.

what if i starve him?

Dont think starving will work. I probably only fed mine a small chunk of silverside every other month and it never moved.
I was worried about the foot on mine after I ripped it pretty good but it seems like it healed up pretty quick.

Here is a pic on the night I ripped the foot and got it out of the rock,2-4

And here is how it is looking today, 2-6
