How to remove cheato from DT

I had a couple strains of cheato get loose in my display tank back when I first got it. I was new to it, I didn't know its potential yet.

Now, months later, I cannot tame the stuff.. I am thinking of replacing the rocks that it is on.. But it also is growing on some of the zoa frags.

What do I do? Remove rocks? Pull out rocks with a pair of tweezers and remove? I read somewhere emeralds may eat them, is that true?

I need options! Its ruining the beauty of my tank. It grows too fast.

those are not chaetos, they are fern caulerpa. My blue tang eat them.

That will take over your display. Get the 2 part rock epoxy (its like clay) and smother it. Fyi- your skimmer may go crazy. Add little at a time

I always just carefully peeled it off the rocks, usually worked... if you have a little fern pop up, just take a butter knife and dig in the rock right there to get it out. Change your filter floss or sock a few hours later to make sure you get the stuff out of the water... just a little extra insurance

I just spent the better half of an afternoon tearing the tank down and sitting down with a pair of teasers and plucked every piece I could manage to find. Off the corals, off the rock..Now just to battle anything that comes back from the grave..
