I have a purple w/ green tip bta that split and am trading but cant get it off of its rock, the rock was a special purchase due to its shape and size so I dont want to smash it. thanks for any help
Pointing a powerhead's flow toward the foot, or rubbing an ice cube on its foot are two ways that I have had 100% success with depending on how accessible the foot is.
If you can pick the rock up, turn it upside down above the water so that the BTA is just barely above it. In a few minutes it will drop right off, seeking the water below.
I have 2 ways that have been successful. 1. With your fingers GENTLY massage the foot for about 2 to 3 minutes then it should be easily to peel off, if it dosent peel off easily then try this next way. 2.put a piece of tile under the bta, than place a powerhead faced towards the top part of the foot and in a day or two ( maybe longer) it should move to the tile. Hope this helped.

I have heard not to do this because it's forcing it to come off the rock by it's own way and could damage the foot. I haven't done it but I have heard it damaged alot of anemones by doin this method
