how to start ehiem canister??

i have a used ehiem 2213 and dont have instructions. how do i start it up?

I've been using those on my freshwater tanks for many years, and here's what I'd suggest....when you fill it with the medium, fill it with water before you close it up. It makes things much more convenient if you use the removable cut-offs valves so that you can take it to a sink for cleaning and refilling....Then once it's full of water and reconnected, when you plug it into the wall it should start right up.
