How to stop siphon

Setting up my ATO and want to make sure I don't siphon or reverse siphon when the the pump shuts off. The pump will be a AquaLifter and will sit on top of a 10 gallon aquarium. The water level at max on the resorvoir will be 10 inches. The water level max in the sump return area will be 8 inches. How do I want to postion the pump and airlines so I don't cause a siphon either way when the pump is not running.

That is the easiest way.. you could also add a check valve.

As long as the highest point of the topoff container is lower then the output, it wont siphon. Keep the output out of the water and no back siphon issue.

Thats the route I will go, since at some point I'm going to forget to fill the topoff container up so it's level will be lower than the sump. Hopefully the dripping noise won't drive me nuts if I even here it at all.
