hey,

I got an Osmolator 3155 the other day and have it going into a kalk reactor... but the water keeps syphoning back into the bucket of water i have which means that it keep going on and off the whole day.
the bucket in on around the same level as the reactor and i even tried having the hose from the pump higher and still it goes back into the bucket!!:mad2:

any ideas???

You have to make sure its set up properly.I wouldn't use the osmolator with a kalk reactor.I lost my entire tank while on vacation.I had the thing set up and while I was gone it overdosed and then stopped working.I started a new tank(still in the build process) I will use the osmolator for top off and the aqua medic doser(sp 3000) with a kalk reactor and a ph controller. This way its dosed only to control ph.I will have a float switch just in case kalk or ph levels are off (due to low kalk) gets low and to much water is being dosed. The sp 300 pulls water (doesn't push) it works with rollers so you can't siphon out any water or kalk.I think this method is safer.I had a check valve with my old tank but something happened. The system overdosed and then shutoff.I came back to a white tank and my water in the sump was low.I don't know what went wrong but I don't want this to happen again.

Tunze specifically makes a kalk reactor for the osmolator. The "calcium dispenser"
even comes with a special valve to keep exactly what you describe from happening.

I used the tunze dispenser the problem with it is its to small. Its nice but in a high demand tank or a larger tank with low ph it has to get refilled to often. The tunze uses the same check valve that you find anywhere. Its a nice unit but when you have a large tank its more of a pain.
