How to stop Tunz 6025 from sliding down to the bottom of tank?

I have this tunz 6025 for 3 months now. I always set it at approximately 1/3 from the surface and no issue with that, but now it keeps sliding down to the last 1/4 to the bottom of the tank. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Tank is 10mm thick so magnet should hold.

It should hold, are the rubber feet installed on the magnets? What country are you in?

Yes rubber feet are in. I am in Australia. I spoke to LFS and they said the magnets for 6025 cannot hold a glass thickness of 10mm. Is this true? No wonder my 9004 skimmer is also having the same problem after three months of usage the magnet is also not holding the equipment. I double checked your products web page but it says both equipment magnet can hold up to 12mm glass. I am very confused now.

Yes, it should work on 12mm unless their is a sharp angle so the force is also working against the magnets holding and then 9-10mm would be the limit.

Hi Roger, i have tried just pointing 6025 pump straight after your suggestion but it still slide down to the bottom of tank. I have even tried removing the pump and just have the two magnets on tank but they still slide down.. My LFS said i need to buy magnet extension because 6025 magnets just won't hold at 10mm glass long term. Magnet extension are not exactly cheap if i knew it in advance i would just buy a 6095 pump instead.

I don't have control over this situation as I only handle the US market but they should hold on 12mm and I suspect the magnets were weakened in transit, heat over 120F can weaken the magnets, this can also happen in manufacturing. I would persist and try the distributor/importer directly.

I have now bought tunze magnet extension for 6025 pump and problem solved. As for the skimmer, instead of paying $100 for 2 sets of magnet extension I paid $500 to get a new 9012 skimmer instead. Very excited to use the new skimmer I love the design. I am a big fan of Tunze products except encountered magnet issue.
