How to sucessfully QT Gobbies?

I understand that QT and Hospital tanks should not have sand. How then can you keep fishes that spend most of the time in the sand, such as Diamond Gobbies?
 
Actually gobies can be quarantined via tank transfer. They do not sleep in the sand as some wrasses do.
 
Not that Snorvich needs my validation in the least, but I just finished up TT with my Diamond Goby and it did great as he mentioned. I had wondered about the sand myself and just put a small 5x5 tupperware container of substrate in my 40b for him and he never so much as gave it look. lol

If you were doing a wrasse such as a leopard wrasse, that does sleep in the sand, your solution would be perfect as long as you provide fresh sand for each transfer. For this type of fish, sand works better than gravel to avoid any possible mouth damage.
