how to tell if a clover polyp is dead

hi all. i am a newbie to the hobbie
just two months in.

if a clover polyp dies, will all the leaves
close? mine are semi open and wont
close even when touched.
is that a sign that its dead?

They're probably just PO at the moment. What are your parameters? Does everything else look good?

I'm nursing mine back to health. Once dead all that is left is the purple coral stumps. Turns out that the asterina stars took a liking to them and started to wipe out the colony. I still have 75% of the colony and it's is starting to spread off it's rock.

I don't think they like the detritus building up on them so I blow the detritus off the colony at least once a week, and they appear to do better.

I've been adding Red Sea Reef Energy daily an all my corals appear to be doing better.
