How to tell if your fish have parasites?

Hello all! I was wondering if there was anyway to tell if your fish have parasites? Is there any kind of food to feed or anyway to get rid of them?

It's sound advice.

Most fish are carrying parasites and can be completely asymptomatic in their behavior and appearance. It's the cause of many fish's sudden and "strange" deaths.

The common visible signs of parasites are scratching on sand or rocks (flashing), low body mass, spots on body, and/or stringy feces. There again, a fish may still be infected with no signs at all.

QT, observation, and preemptive treatment for the common parasites is the best way to a healthy fish and tank.

Excellent advice. After doing it for a fairly long time, one can also learn to read fish behavior as an indicator.

Thank you! I have heard that some fish can have parasites that live in them and the fish never grows due to the parasites consuming all the food and nutrients the fish takes it. I just didn't know if there was a kind food that could help the fish prevent future parasites or that would just be overall better for fish health so i figured you guys would know more about good fish food lol
