How to use Tropic Marin Bio Calcium

I would add it to a high flow area...for ex. sprinkle it slowly in front of a powerhead outlet. IMO it is better to add it to an overflow drain or another high flow area of the sump. This way you will avoid having the biocalcium land directly on a coral. You do not want to mix the biocalcium with R.O. water before adding because it will precipitate out calcium carbonate.

All excellent advice. I've been using it for years and love it. What is so difficult about sprinkling the powder into the water?

i used to mix mine in a seperate bowl of tank water with the little stir stick they give out with all thier containers.

It has to be easier than this.......spinkle it on the surface of the water come on!!!!

That actually seems to be a lot easier than some other products out there.

The only problem is it takes 20min to do 1 scoop cause I don't want pwder all over my corals.......almast all have closed up because some has landed on them. My star polyps closed immediately....all SPS corals closed polyps as well. Thisi s the only product I have seen that with.

Just seems easier if it could be mixed rather than having debris floating around the tank!!!!

I use Bio-Calcium and love it, I just shake in 4 scoops daily into the sump, no issues with it landing on corals. I recommend that those without a sump or overflow use a liquid 2 part instead.
