How to vacate a baby Mantis Shrimp?

Just today I saw my neon blue goby fighting with what appeared to be my black stripped goby but as I looked closer I saw that it was a baby sized mantis shrimp that rushed into a small hole in the live rock. About 10 seconds later it reappeared jostled with my goby again then hid in the rock.

I know which rock he is in, in fact the rock can be pulled out very easily. Question is once the rock is out how do I rid him?

The live rock is premium so I don't want to kill too much beneficial bacteria or some of the purple coraline, I just want him out of the live rock dead or alive.

Can anyone guide me on pouring club soda down the hole or hot water?

Thanks,

MG

If I can catch him alive I will ship him out for free to anyone that pays shipping.

Come on, lets get this guy a new home!!!!

Just dip the rock in a bucket of fresh water. The mantis will vacate the rock. Then take the mantis and place it in a box with some fresh salt water and mail it to me :)

I decided to wait it out a little longer. I'm not too sure now which rock he went into and don't want to start tearing up my small reef.

I will try to employ a small trap in the tank of minature proporations. I should be able to catch him with time.

If I notice that he kills my first fish, I will tear apart the rocks and get him forcefully.

Hopefully the small bait in the tank will catch him, it's going to have to be like the size of medicine cotainers that we toss out.

Just so you know, I have tried all of the things listed above and have yet to rid my nano of the dreaded mantis. I wanted one before I got my fish and then one killed all my fish. The only survivor is a lonely blue striped goby. So maybe I'll get a peacock mantis now? but good luck.
