Wow, I never thought I would have or hear about anything dying form old age! My emperor is doing great thankfully. He is in a QT tank with my queen and some damsels. I just got back from Atlantic City, everything still going fine. Sorry to hear about everyone else's loss. Where does everyone go for there livestock? I know what you mean jon about going way over budget. I am broke and not spending any more money on fish for a while! I wanted that gray angel they've had for a while there, very playful and great personality on that guy!

Lol I told my gf you were probably eye balling that gray angel and told her you probably would have bought it if they didn't have emperors there, lol.

I'm so glad someone said something about the prices being different in the store. The prices were a little more in the store for the salt then they were online. I need to make sure to get the money back from everyone getting the salt from me that I was charged at the store. At this point that is food money.

I'm glad my gf went with me she talked me out of buying a feeding stick for my eel and my frog fish that would have completely emptied my bank account had I bought it. There was another feeding stick there for under two bucks from ocean nutrition that works just great. I get such pleasure out of feeding these animals. :-D

Yeah, I was eye balling that gray, I would have bought him if I didn't see that other emperor. You probably missed that one changing emperor, he was in a pvc pipe the whole time! You had to really look for him, I never saw him that good, but I could see his yellow tail and some horizontal stripes. That gray was such a cool fish! Very intelligent and playful, he watched and followed me everywhere I went.
I need to get a feeding stick for my SFE, I got him to eat a little bit yesterday, but I need a better stick. What are you feeding him? How big is he? Mine is shy and about 6". I hear ya on the food money, I am struggling on gas money too, damn V8 doesn't help any.

I love my French, but he is starting to be a bit of a pain in the butt. I think my gf is claiming him. First thing she does when we come home is feed him. If I come in the room first and stand in front of his tank and don't feed him I get splashed. I know it's on purpose. His aim is pretty good to. Little stinker.

The snow flake so far has been eating squid. He has only had two feedings since I got him. My gf had bought me a book on "Keeping Moray Eels in Aquariums" for Christmas. It talks about..."vitamin supplements accompanying every second to third feeding." I need to look through the book more and see if they have info on where to get these vitamins and exactly which ones they mean. I have a TON of frozen foods, not to mention the stuff I have in the refrigerator and dry containers filling a drawer, so it's diet will be pretty varied.

Man it sucks people are having so many problems. I'm part of the pet rewards program so you get the online pricing in store if you give them your card. I bought a bunch of inverts, cerith snails, nassarius, some blue legs and a sea hare and all are fine so far. I also got my angler and he started luring 15 minutes after hitting the tank. I am a little anal retentive though. I carry styros and heat packs in my truck all the time. IMO clowns are very prone to ich. I've had them show white spots 10 minutes after hitting the tank. I hope they'll do something for you guys as far as your livestock issues. I can definetly see them saying that since they carry ich with them anyway and they only show it under stress, it's not something they will cover. Just my two cents.

Jon, if your french ever becomes too much of a pain in the ***, I will always gladly give him a new home! Haha, I know your gf will kill you, im just kidding. I'd love to find one around that size, maybe a bluering, well see, gotta upgrade tanks first. That is funny how he splashes you! My angels just give me the stare down. I woke up from a nap today and rolled over and my QT tank is right next to my bed and both angels were just faced at me giving me the I'm hungry look! I love their personalities, that's why I want to get more, but not until I have proper homes for them obviously, but they are my favorite fish.

I have been noticing some fish problems with TPP lately as well. My brother bought 2 masked butterflies and they both died on him, 260 bucks down the drain! Does anyone quarantine their fish when they get it? I think that helps a lot. Treating with copper and QTing for 4-8 weeks. So where is everyone going to get their livestock from now? I need to get a pair of clowns, BTA, clean up crew and eventually another angel. BTW, does anyone know if that gray is still there? When will TPP have another %20 off livestock sale? I reeeaaallllyyyy wanna get him! Also, TPP has been making some mistakes lately too, I remember one time they forgot my mushroom frag when they were bagging everything up, also my brother got an atlantic blue tang saturday and they charged him an extra 6 bucks and didn't give him the %20 off either!! Everyone makes mistake though, I guess you just have to double check and make sure you check out your fish and QT them!

Dang! sounds like they had some ICKY bugs in the system with so many dead critters coming home. that's a bummer! I don't know why, but i always bring home skinny, icky little fish, from our old Newark Tropicals, and just drop them in the tanks, and voila! in a couple days they are clear, healthy and eating like pigs, and nobody else gets sick. go figure? might have something to do with using plenum sand beds. which I use. Or not? but i also like to melt my frozen brine and mysis in a cup of fresh SW , then strain off the water with the excess nutrients, then add another cup o SW and a teaspoon of seachem Reef Plus to let it soak up some vitamins,amino acids and minerals. my fish never seem to get sick. Always fat, dumb and happy. Like GARF's fish. I don't know??

Yeah Tom!! they rang my QO 3000 up as 49.99 too! I caught it when the total was higher than i expected. so i said , hey?!!! The catalogue says they are 41.99 for the month, and the rep in the aisle said the $5 discount should be in the check out puter. so they checked,and rang it up again the right way, MANUALY.

It;s the age of puters. garbage in...garbage out... you can't trust the puter because it relies on poor defenseless humans to make all the right entries, in advance of the sale . I find this problem at just about every store. Grocery stores are even worse.!! but super G sometimes give me the item free, when I find a bad puter price. a reward, so they can fix it.

HEY NANO! tell us more about the TFP REWARDS PROGRAM card? I can't seem to find it on the website? sounds like a good deal!!

and next time DPS: just remember, the idea is to keep the car straight, not perpendicular to the road and trucks. We would have missed you!! Time is irrelavent in the overall scheme of things. Just the fabric upon which the tapestry of existance is woven. So, do take care and exist a bit longer!! At least a few more stitches.....

i had a problem with pricing as well. first off i bought a filter cartrige 4 pack that was supposed to be 10% off. checked the reciept when i got home and realized the discount hadnt been applied

i also purchased a 3" atlantic blue tang which was stickered for 49.99... well, it got rung up as 55.99 and wasnt discounted 20% off like all livestock was! weird, cause they did give me 20% off the 12lbs of live rock i bought. next time i go up there im bringing the reciept, and bag with the sticker price of the tang and getting some credit

i was also told i couldnt use my "loyalty" card, which ive always used to get their online or catalog sale prices instore before

so far though, my tang is healthy... although hes a wuss and does nothing but hide everytime i come into the room

If you have ever bought something from them on line the have your name in there system and will give you the online price. Just ask.. You are automaticly a member just by setting up a purchase online.. Sales person pulled my name gave me the better price before..
My hippo and tang that I got from TPP are doing great. No ick and are starting to pick at the rock and eat kelp flake.

On a side note one of the clowns that died floated by the anemone and he ate him before I could get him out of the tank. He burped him out a lot smaller and without the ick today. At least the anemone knows his job. Taste like chicken(of the sea)

Hmmm, that must be true about the loyalty card. when i questioned the pump price they too pulled up my name from old orders and and mailing lists, then applied all the discounts. Ive been a good customer for 8 years , i guess.

I always go with a written shopping list and the online sale prices. and a pocket calculator. and add it up before checkout. that way if the bottom line isn't close, we can check the discounts.

He Al, did you give the anemone and after dinner mint?

To everyone who bought now dead livestock:

I sent TPP an email today through their email system on their contact site( I sent it to customer service):

I stated what had happened and that I lived far enough away that it wouldn’t be possible for me to get up there for a few weeks...
I received a reply today(same day!) stating that it was not a problem and that the email gives them notification of the problem. He also said he would put me in the system for store credit that can be used for the next 30days.

I feel good about this level of service and my confidence in them continues. If anyone else has purchased problem livestock I would recommend doing the same. I will also be printing the email when I go along with my receipt and frozen fishy….

Still a bummer, but I am glad to have gotten a professional response… TPP is still tops in my book…

i dont know if its the way its supposed to be done, but i can tell you its the way TPP has always done it. at least on all my old reciepts anyway
