How well will a chalice recover from a sting?

I had a Milli fall into my Tyree Watermelon Chalice. It is definately showing some skeleton in the far corner which is the only spot it really got stung. Should I leave it alone or frag it. I'll admit, I'm not too thrilled about cutting this thing.

The only thing I can say for it's health, is that after it was stung, it had it's "sweepers" out last night to feed.

I would say leave it and see how it does. When chalices have skeleton showing around the edges, I've found they if you trim it off the grow back is alot faster.

I totally agree with Darrell, Leave it...it may even decide to start growing faster after the incident. Check this out for recovery time. My LE Red Watermelon had a deep water acro sitting in the center of it.

3 days later, 5/26/07...since the incident the red watermelon growth has taken off big time, growing crazy fast.

Thanks for the reassurance. How big is that one in the picture. I hope mine colors up like that, Where do you have it in the tank? Mine is around 1 1/2"x2" right now so it wouldn't take much to kill the whole thing.

In the picture it was probably 1 2/2" X 1 1/2" around. Now it is about 2" by 2" I did frag it recently so it has a side cut off. It seems to stimulate the red watermelon to cut it. IO don't know about the pink watermelon though. I fragged mine in January this year and it has been slowly receding ever since. It ended up being a tiny frag with mostly skeleton all around it. It is finally starting to make a slight comeback this past week.

Cross your fingers and hope it starts to heal and grow, grow, grow :D.
