I just got my first Micro!!! I have been looking around and people are talking about target feeding, but I want to better understand how to do it and with what. Can someone help me understand?

Thanks

No, I don't have a turkey baster, but I have a syringe. I am thinking a Turkey baster may be easier, so I will get one.

As far as pipetting food onto the coral, I realize that, but is there anything specific? Can I thaw out some brine shrimp? I have some Phtyoplex from Kent Marine.

Would that work? What else does everyone feed. Also, how ofter do people feed? Everyday, Every other Day, 1x per week...?

Thanks
Ben

i use a syringe to spot feed. wait until the lights r out or the feeders r out and dust each head with some food. mostly i feed them mysis about every other week or so.

I use a long piece of rigid airline tubing connected to a syringe with a short piece of flexible airline tubing. The flexible airline tubing friction fits right over the rigid tubing and the syringe, so it's really easy. I've found that you can feed very accurately with this and you don't even have to get your hands wet. I use some frozen food that I make myself by mixing various seafood and RO/DI water in a blender. I feed my LPS after lights out and turn off all powerheads for 15 minutes or so.

If you want to take a look on my feeding devices, including syringe and Kent Sea Squirt, it's here, at the bottom. Not for micros, but works the same way. Can be made shorter.
