How would I get my Xenia to grow up the side of my overflow?

I think it would look need to have most of my overflow covered by Xenia, or at least a good sized colony, but how would I do this? Can I glue a frag on somehow to get it started? or do I need it on a rock and then glue the rock somehow?

Any while I am at it, how much flow is too much for Xenia? seems even if I have my tunze 6055 blowing it over I can still see the hands pulsing.

I have found that it quite easy to get Xenia to grow easily anywhere in my tank I use discarded snail shells. By placing shells next to main colony, It takes no more than a week to get the Xenia to step on to the shells, then I super glue gel the shells to where I wish in the tank.
If you have hermit crabs it is wise to block the shell entrance as crabs may try to make off with them.

You can get super glue gel just about anywhere. Hobby stores, hardware stores, walmart. Just make sure to look for the type labeled gel, as the other type is a bit of a mess to use.

You should glue it outside if possible because the gel cures pretty quick in saltwater. The best way to cover your overflow in the stuff is to put a few pieces of it near the base and it will split and climb the overflow until it is all covered

just set the rock next to the overflow, it will eventually grow on it.

Yea Just set it as close to the overflow as possible with flow forcing toward xenia into wall where it keeps swaying into wall and itl prob attatch within a week.. Did for me on accident . Stuff grows like a weed so i sold the rock and kept it attatched to back wall.. so is a hairy green mushroom. both growing off wall

i just did this with some xenia i have, i just took the rock and laid it at an angle against the over flow and the xenia moved up the rock and onto the over flow
