u = u-tube inlet from amp4700
o = drilled pipe inlet from amp4700
all 1"

U 1" return to sump with u-tube
O 2.5" return to sump drilled bottom

I want to re do the aquascape as follows

______________view tanks_____________

xxxxx yyyyyyyT---------------zzzzzzzzzzz
xxxxxxxyy-------------- yyyyyzzzzzzzzzzz
yyyyyyyyzzz------------- yyyyyyyyyyyyy
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-----------T xxxxxxxxxxx
_____________view tank_______________

x = low rock
y = med high rock
z = high rock
-- = sand
T = tunze unit under rocks

I want to cut back on the return from the sump because I continue to fight micro bubbles that I think (process of elemination) is coming from the pipe cavitating.

But I want to add more random current to the tank.

My thought was to use a 2 tunze 6100 on a controller and the rocks and place them somewhere on the bottom of the tank

My questions are?
Is this a good place for creating random flow?
Are the cords long enough to do this? I guess that it will be about 6' just to reach the top of the tank.
Are they reliable enogh to put them into a place like this?
I would be really mad if I set up the tank just to have to tear it down again in 6 months because the unit failed.

Why would you hide it?
It costs an arm and a leg, you should be proud to display it.
:p

You have to clean them every 3 months, they are reliable but if you don't clean them failure is absolutely guaranteed. I would not hide them in the rock work or place them somewhere you cannot clean them.

You have 16ft of cord.
