How would you rate this bioload??

I've always had a small tank, so not sure how I would rate this biolad. Tank is about 105 gallons with a 40BR sump. Skimmer is SRP XP 2000 (overrated for this tank size) and I have a fuge that is growing chaeto pretty well. Skimmer is pulling some good stuff, but not very thick, just really really dark watery skimmate.

I feed 1-2 times a day during the week, and more on the weekends. Tank is only a few months old. Nitrates are nearly if not undetectable, and phosphate is around 0.04. I've got some brown slime algae but it has subsided significantly in the last 2 weeks. Tank is only a few months old.

I am NOT concerned with the algae, as it is part of the new tank syndrome. I have a couple of corals that are looking rather starved, so I was curious how you would rate my bioload.

1. Med-Lrg Powder blue tang. Eats like a pig.
2. 2 clowns (average size)
3. Med-Sm Yellow tang (new to tank)
4. 2 blue green chromis (large)
5. Royal gramma (large)
6. Pair of Fire/Blood shrimp

I do plan on adding quite a few more small fish. How would you rate this biolad as it stands now? I thought mediumish, but water seems very clean. Thanks!

PS: As far as what is going to be added from this point on is: Pair of swiss guard basslets, possum wrasse, maybe a few anthias, and a small goby or blenny and maybe a dwarf angel. The rest of the fish I plan on stocking are small. This will an SPS dominated system. I had 9 smallish fish in my 30 gallon and I considered that a pretty heavy biolad (albeit they were small fish) but curious about this larger tank.

Here is a pic from a few weeks ago (YT not in there at the time).....Corraline is startint to take off so rocks are bit more purple today than in that pic.

For an SPS dominated tank I would consider the bioload on the upper end of medium size. I would not add more than 6 small or 3 medium/small sized fish with your current fish population. The tank is a little small for the Powder Blue Tang and I suspect you are going to start to have problems with it and the Yellow Tang both in the same tank before long.

Thanks, that's what I thought. About the powder blue. You are probably right. There was a ton of aggression with the yellow when I introduced it, but it seems to have subsided. He checks him every now and again. I'll admit I didn't thoroughly research the powder blue and I had an opportunity to get a healthy one from a local tank break down and I pulled the trigger a little prematurely. Saw recommendations for a 5' tank but figured with the open scape it may be OK for a while? Tank is 52" x 26" footprint and lots of open lanes that the fush definitely uses. Time will tell, if it gets ugly I'll do what I have to do. I really hope this doesn't turn into a flaming thread. I do appreciate the feedback though.:D

Those impulse buys seem to backfire every time! Do keep an eye on those two tangs, while not impossible, it is rare where a yellow and a powder blue will coexist in a small tank.

LOL, yes sir! Funny you mention but I've seen several threads on that....after the fact:deadhorse1:

Hey! Nice looking Tank! I would add some more liverock!! I have 4 Tangs Yellow, Hippo, Scopas, Foxface One Spot/Rabbit Fish 6 Clowns, Coral Beauty, Lawnmower Blenny, 3 Shrimp 20 snails in my 90G Duncan, Flowerpot, Toadstools, Xenia's, 4 Anemones all are doing well.....even the Tangs

Thanks, and I thought I was in the bad with the tang polizia, lol. Actually I purposefully left the rock scape like that because I was planning on exclusively SPS and I'm giving plenty of room for them to grow up into nice colonies. Stags in the center, and bottle brushes and tables around the outside and tonga.
