i have a 55gal dt 55 sump/ refuge a swc 160 skimmer 3" sand bed want to pu tsailfin tang in ---i have starfish/ pair of clowns 6 chroomis . how many more fish would u suggest i put i want a couple gobiesx2 and a couple wrasse?

A sailfin tang will NOT do well in a 55 gallon tank. With a pair of clowns and six chromis, you are pushing it already.

Threads like this are hilarious and I really wonder when snorvich is going to lose his mind...

Why did you even ask the question if you already have your own answer?

No tang will do well in a 55g. Sorry to say but your local reefers don't know what they are talking about.

i had already talked to local reefers just gotta keep nitrates down and i plan to get small guy then gone in a year

Dang. And all these years I thought I had it figured out and was doing the right thing. Then this thread learns me that I don't know what I'm doing.

Better get back to :reading:

well i am one of the many guys out there but i have two tangs in my 72 bow blue hippo and purple tang and they seem happy but i am sure they would love a bigger tank i am in the process of upgrading

So, according to the "local reefers"; all I have to do is keep nitrates down (nitrates do little, if any, harm to most fish) and I can cram all the fish I want into any tank? What nonsense; but this forum needs a little levity fro m time to time.

I have the same two tangs in a 210 and am thinking of selling the blue hippo because he doesn't seem very happy to me...

seen many tang in 4' or less tanks ..was mainly asking ? to get post and to get feedback
for other fish for the tank

Ah, so the goal is to get enough posts to qualify for the buy and sell forums? RC is a potentially valuable asset to avoid making mistakes but if feedback is provided and that feedback is ignored, why even ask a question? Nitrates, by the way, has little effect on most fish (corals is a different story), the real issue is fish health which in the long run means saving money by not having them die.
