How's my stocklist?

Hi guys, the salt bug bit pretty hard recently and i've been doing a lot of research and planning since. This build wont go up until August/September since i'll be moving soon. In the mean time, i'm making lists and slowly ordering what I need so I don't shock my wallet too hard. I was hoping someone could look over what I have so far and tell me if i'm overstocked or if i'll have compatibility issues. Reef will be softies and LPS and maybe the additions of SPS down the road if I succeed in keeping the basic coral happy.

Equipment
40g breeder, 20g long sump
Bean drilled overflow
Build My LED 20000K XB Series
Spectrapure 90 GPD
Reef Octopus NWB-110
Undecided on addition of refugium

Fish
Oscellaris Clownfish x 2
Blue Green Chromis
Firefish
Flasher Wrasse
Royal Gramma Basslet
Lawnmower Blenny
Inverts/Clean-up crew

Thanks!

Nice choice of fish!
A nice number for a 40 Gallon!
I would DEFINITELY add the clownfish pair LAST!!
Clownfish, even the Ocellaris, CAN get persnickety - especially towards the docile Firefish you have in mind!
Are you going to get a nice, securely fitting lid for that? I'm thinking your firefish or chromis MIGHT jump out.

Thanks monkey. :) I planned on going with a glass lid to cut down on evaporation. If it looks like the water is getting too warm, then i'll swap it out for a mesh lid and invest in an ATO. I really want a Bangaii Cardinal too but I was worried I was pushing it on stock. If I can find one at the LFS that eats pellet/flake then I might have to opt out of the Wrasse. I'm not against frozen foods, I just see them as treats and feel i'd burn through them if it were a staple.

NO problem!
You should be fine with that number - even with the one cardinal (those are nice!). Eight small fish total in a 40 gallon is fine. Your skimmer (you have an excellent one) will give you this leeway.
A mesh cover is nice this time of year for two reasons: good air flow and it keeps your pH and dissolved oxygen stable- you'll just have to top off more often that's all. Just make sure it fits securely on your tank!
Good luck I'm sure you'll be fine!

That looks like a nice stock list like monkeysee said. Bangaiis are cool, I love mine, but he doesn't move a whole lot. With your other fish listed, I'd keep the flasher as they're very active and colorful while your clowns and firefish aren't the most active of swimmers either. I love wrasse, definitely my favorite fish. I really enjoy watching my 3 (lineatus, naoko's, solerensis) interact and swim nonstop. You might even consider having 2 smaller, peaceful wrasse in place of the chromis or royal gramma unless you really like them.

You're right, i'll keep the Wrasse. :) Which smaller Wrasse would you recommend? The RG is a must-have for me but I would be willing to switch out the Chromis. I was mainly going for one of these guys for color diversity.

Stocking looks good!

I am about to get my tank drilled, could you possibly post a few pictures on how your BA overflow looks??

Definitely, once I buy the tank. :D A Petco employee told me the $1/gal sale should start again at the end of July, so i'll be buying my 40 breeder then. Will practice on a tank from a yard sale until comfortable, and probably go with 1 inch PVC instead of 1.5 inch which seems like mega overkill for a 40.

Be careful with the tetra tanks!! I am 90% sure that they are tempered all around, so MAKE SURE IT IS NOT!

Your right make sure you get a lid
