every other time i change bulbs my sockets bust is this common or should i be using die electric greese or something.. i called my local supplier and they want twenty bucks a socket so any tips on preventative maintainence.....thanks

Great question. I just went through this tonight (Grrrrr...) and was wondering the same thing.

I either have the fixture itself break (ceramic break, or contacts slip so they won't hold the bulb tight), or the ceramic end on the bulb itself breaks, all too often.

Is there some sort of lubricant we can use? Or replace the fixture with some better grade of equipment? Or sacrifice a peppermint shrimp with an obsidian algae scraper or something?
