huge crown conch snail

I recently found a large 4" crown conch snail that I have added to my locals only 55 gal fish only setup (I have a few shrimp, hermits, and smaller snails also). Does anyone have any experience with these. I considering releasing him back to the wild as he is so big. Any thoughts or concerns would be appreciated.??

They're mollusc eaters, of course, but since you live in St. Augustine you might just want to keep him and catch snails to feed him. The main reason most people don't keep them (intentionally) is that they tend to eat the cleanup crew. That might not be a factor in your case.
