Humidity

My fish room is 3'X15' and it is built in my garage. It gets pretty warm in there and causes a lot of humidity. I have an insulated garage door but the way my house faces, the sun is on it most of the day. I am going to run my airconditining into the room and insulate over top of it. Hopefully that will help combat the heat.

Since I will be pumping my airconditing in I dont want to vent it to the outside. I was thinking of using a dehumidifyer instead.

Has anyone used one in a salt environment with success?

I run a dehumidifier in my fish room and haven't had any problems with it. It's been running a couple years now and it drains straight to a drain. However with my latest upgrade (150G Sump) I'm installing a Panasonic exhaust fan as well. By far the quietest exhaust fan I've have heard.

I like that nutone fan. I wanted to use a fan because of my limited floor space. The problem I ran into was no way to automate it but the nutone fan seems to do that.

My next concern was pulling my A/C out of the room. Hopefully by keeping the room cooler the humidity wont be such a problem.

I have tried to seal the room as much as possible because it is in my garage where I keep all my equipment for my lawn business. I really dont want $20K to rust away.
