humilus coral

does anybody have any tips on care, i have a 120 which is mixed sps and lps. I got this coral from my lfs which i work at on a part time base for barter. all my parameters are where they need to be no nitrate no phosphate calcium is 420 kh is 9. I just recently set up a reactor with the no3 pellets to replace my vodka dosing. i run a 8 bulb t5 setup with 3 whites 3 pure actinic and two actinic. Im at a loss with sps this coral is browning out for some reason i cant keep sps.

hum like lots of light and lots of flow so put it up high.

also change your 3 x actintic to the ATI blue plus and get rid of the other 2 actinic and put in 1 blue special and 1 purple plus this will increase your PAR significantly

yeah humulis is more of an expert type coral ime dont trip on it

its up high and i run two koralia 6's on a wave maker and i run uv bulbs, but imo i like geismann. dont know much about ati

when i say high flow i mean high flow in my 90G display i run 3 x MP40W on full and 2 x 6045 modded (gives 140x flow turnover) and i think this is just enough for the hum. i was recently in fiji and saw them in nature and they are in pretty hectic flow areas.

Lots of light and flow (as already mentioned) AND low nutrients, IME. They brown easily.

yea come to find out i had a bulb issue when they were only three months old. hopefully i can get its color back, it looks better already but its a long shot

I have a purple humilis and a yellow humilis ....both are very hardy and fast growers. Like most other thick-branched acros, they do best in high flow and high light reefs with low nutrient levels.
