Humu in a 40g

I know I know. He can't stay in there forever. I have a 40g that is pretty basic. I want to get a Humu that is around 1". How long could he realistically live in a 40 before I need to upgrade? It would just be him in there with maybe a wrasse or two.

I don't know how quickly they grow but I imagine it would be pretty tough to find one that small.
