I have just purchased a tiny, tiny, hippo tang, about 1/2" - 3/4".

How fast will he grow and how long will he live?

It amazes me how little this guy is compared to how big he will get!!

if in the right conditions many many years. 10+

the thing with small hippo tangs is that if you can get them to live past the first week you should be fine. feel formula 1 & 2, seaweed for it to graze on. make sure that you have powerhead intakes covered... i lost one due to inexperience that way...

growth rate will really depend on the size of your tank and what you feed. Mine has gone from about 1.5 to 3.5 now and its been about 6 months
